Tamlite has launched its latest family of luminaires for hazardous areas - the all-new CYCLONE range. British-made by our product development team, it stands at the forefront of lighting design with ease of install and maintenance. The CYCLONE range combines stellar lighting performance with outstanding durability. It’s available with a choice of steel, polycarbonate or GRP body, and is capable of withstanding the most arduous of applications. All of this makes the CYCLONE range the complete industrial lighting solution.
The CYCLONE P, with its polycarbonate body and diffuser, has an IK08 rating, making it extremely durable and resistant to impact. Its liquid polymer gasket enhances the water seal, making it more resistant to water ingress, ensuring that it is the ideal luminaire for external applications.
The CYCLONE G is built from Glass Reinforced Plastic, or fibreglass, and is specialised for use within the food industry. Its extra degree of robustness against hot water or vapour averts condensation on the inside of the luminaire. As the use of hot water is common in food preparation areas (either directly or indirectly), protecting against this is key, as it reduces the build up of mould within the fitting.
The CYCLONE G also has an acrylic PMMA diffuser, which significantly enhances the lumen output, improving the efficacy of the luminaire.
The CYCLONE range expresses Tamlite’s commitment to the circular economy initiative. The overriding benefit of the CYCLONE is its ease of maintenance – simply remove and replace the inner gear tray when required, as the external body is designed to stand the test of time.
This is the essence of the circular economy; rather than disposing of luminaires once their lifespan has ended, design them to easily repaired and updated, reducing waste in the long term.

The CYCLONE range has been designed with installers in mind. The dual knock out connection at the end of the fitting allows for loop in loop out wiring of the CYCLONE luminaire, saving time for installers.
Adjustable clips at the top of the fitting make it much easier to snap into place, reducing installation time and easing maintenance, and allowing the fixture to be ceiling or suspension mounted.
The robust construction of the CYCLONE range ensures that the fittings are resistant to a wide range of chemicals, crucial for environments in which such materials are used.
