Project Sales Engineers

We have two Project Sales Engineer roles available.

  1. South East covering Dorset, Hants, Surrey, Sussex, and Kent. (ref. CL/JS/S02) and
  2. Anglia (M1/M40) and covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and Northern Home Counties.(ref. CL/JS/S10).

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and generating lighting project sales across either the South East or Anglia (depending on role applied for).

Support for CEF stores on lighting project enquiries.

Develop and cultivate Tamlite brand within local contracting sector.

Secure new business opportunities with local specification and end-user clients

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify and generate project opportunities by working closely with CEF branch network.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on their requirements and outline scheme benefits.
  • Survey site installations where necessary to define scope of works.
  • Manage design process in conjunction with Technical Design department to ensure customer requirements are met accurately and on time
  • Ensure necessary tenders, quotations and technical submittals are accurate and progressed
  • Provide timely monthly reports to the Management team in an agreed format.
  • Identify and develop a short/medium and long-term pipeline of Project opportunities from contractor/installer customer base across the area. Leverage opportunities through visibility and presence on customer sites.
  • Build strong effective working relationships with CEF branch teams, customers and internal departments.
  • Identify opportunities within local authority, NHS sector for specification work.

Required Skills

  • Experience of managing small to large lighting projects through survey, design, tender and sales stages
  • Knowledge of local contractor/installer base with immediate access to leads and contacts.
  • 3+ years of selling features and benefits of a wide range of lighting products including lighting controls.
  • Determination and organisation skills to enable annual sales growth against defined targets and objectives.
  • Familiarity with CRM, Microsoft 365 and RELUX software
  • Friendly and hard-working attitude with ambition to integrate into strong team ethos.
  • Diligent and thorough attitude to administration and communications.
  • Full driving licence.

  1. Northern Home Counties and Anglia covering Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, M1, and M40 corridor (ref. CL/JS/TS3).
  2. North and North East covering North East, Yorkshire, Notts, Derbyshire, Humberside and Lincoln (ref. CL/GC/TS5).
  3. Scotland and Northern Ireland (ref. CL/GC/TS6)

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for selling and managing trade sector products into the wholesale market via exclusive distributor CEF.

Identifying and securing opportunities to increase stock share in branch network to aid sales growth.

  • Cultivate and build strong relationships at all levels within CEF to secure long-term market share and sales growth.
  • Develop Tamlite/Xcite trade brand within local contracting sector.
  • Liaise with key colleagues and operations team to maintain strong trading relationships with wholesale teams.
  • Provide training and support to wholesales teams to develop brand awareness and sell-through
  • Merchandise and develop trade counter presence across CEF network.
  • Promote Tamlite/Xcite brand across trade events and exhibitions.

Required Skills

  • 3+ Years of experience in selling electrical or similar products into wholesale/distribution sector.
  • Determination and organisation skills to enable annual sales growth against defined targets and objectives.
  • Familiarity with CRM, Microsoft 365 software.
  • Friendly and hard-working attitude with ambition to integrate into strong team ethos.
  • Diligent and thorough attitude to administration and communications.
  • Full driving licence.
