Colmore building Aon case study

AON, The Colmore Building - Birmingham

The Colmore Building, previously known as Colmore Plaza, is a 14-storey Grade A office building in Birmingham City Centre's Colmore Business District. The building can accommodate up to 104,000 sq ft of office space with floor plates of 23,000 sq ft, and boasts a BREEAM environmental and sustainability rating of 'Excellent'.

For the 12th floor office of AON, Tamlite, in collaboration with M&E Consultant AJ Consultancy (Ali Yazdi), TQ Building Services (Tony Quinn), and CEF Dagenham Branch, was tasked with supplying suitable luminaires.

Tamlite engineered a solution tailored to the office's specific tile and ceiling void size requirements. Utilising the Capital range, we provided a sample that fit seamlessly into the ceiling tiles. Additionally, we connected remote drivers to resolve the void issue. When the initial sample did not match the RAL colour of the ceiling tiles, Tamlite promptly provided a solution to match the colour on site.

Upon introduction to the project at design stage 3, Tamlite offered lighting design proposals. Stage 4 quickly followed with a more detailed design, working closely with the appointed contractor, TQ Building Services.

We used TM66 certified luminaires such as AIR, Capital, Signum, and IKON, which adhered to the strict BREEAM guidelines required for the building.
