Retrofit Lighting Solutions
NET-ZERO targets, and the importance of retrofit or remanufactured lighting schemes to achieving them, cannot be understated – replacing existing inefficient light engines, or the complete systems with the latest generation of LED luminaires, lighting controls and wireless systems is key to progressing our collective sustainability efforts and achieving ambitious net-zero goals.
54% of lighting is yet to be switched to LED. Replacing traditional light sources with LED is the most fundamental change that can be made to a lighting system, realising significant benefits in terms of energy efficiency, maintenance costs and luminaire lifetime - and there is so much more that can be done with effective retrofit solutions.
Net-Zero is Not Just for New Builds
80% of the buildings that will be occupied in 2050 have already been built – the latest lighting schemes are not exclusively for new build projects. The retrofit of existing luminaires is essential to the progression and enhancement of our existing commercial, industrial and residential buildings – to help achieve net-zero targets in the coming years.
For example, the majority of school buildings in England are more than 40 years old, with 60% of them built before 1976, many of which have not yet received important upgrades. Studies show that many educational buildings can hugely benefit from an lighting system retrofit to help reduce energy costs and improve student wellbeing.
Tamlite offers the complete end to end solution. Our Product Development Team create custom-build luminaires right down to the gear tray to suit specific project requirements; our Tamtec PCB facility provides custom-designed LED boards; our Technical Team ensures that all new products are rigorously tested.
Vision Lighting Controls
Retrofit lighting is about more than just switching to LED. It’s about delivering the exact lighting solution required for a building and its occupants. Wireless smart lighting networks can turn an existing building into a future-proof connected facility – with no cabling required.
Tamlite helps to tackle environmental issues in a variety of ways:
- High performance LED luminaires, designed with the Circular Economy in mind and building energy efficiency
- The reduction of plastic from its product design and packaging for a more sustainable solution
- Tamlite offers an environmental service with its lighting solutions – in partnership with Waste Experts.
