Tamlite's Year in Review 2017
It’s been an incredibly busy 2017 at Tamlite. Along with a host of awards, several huge events and countless products launched, we have been celebrating our 50th anniversary all year. Here, we look back at our year in review.
It was these celebrations that kicked the year off for us in January. We are very proud to be able to enjoy Tamlite’s 50th year, and January saw the start of a 12-month celebration.
A Productive Spring
Our year in review kicks off with February, which saw Tamlite host an open day for CEF national account customers so that they could see our excellent manufacturing facilities. We continued to improve our product range in February as well, as the LED light engines in the i3 and i5 recessed downlights from the 2020 range were upgraded to provide 100 lumens per watt performance. The Lighting Industry Association (LIA) gave Tamlite Quality Assurance approval in March. We were adjudged to be outstanding in providing quality during our product design process, as well as testing products to the relevant standards.
The Horizon range was also expanded in March, with the introduction of the HORIZON COMFORT, for our office sector. April then witnessed another new addition to the HORIZON collection, the FOCUS. This is another solution in the office sector, with glare-reducing technology to improve performance. We also celebrated more anniversaries in April, as it was announced that Emergency Application Manager Jason Horton and Tamlite Amenity Assistant Application Manager Phil Sanderson had both reached 25 years at Tamlite in 2017.
A Successful Summer
May was the month in which Tamlite were thrilled to be declared the inaugural winners of the LIAQA award. Awarded by the LIA, this prestigious prize is awarded to the manufacturer who is committed to delivering the best practice, excellence and quality assurance into its products. We are delighted for our hard work and effort to be acknowledged. Tamlite also unveiled various products in May, including the continuous lighting system, I LINE, and the industrial-warehousing HI BAY light from the xcite range.
June was an exciting month for Tamlite, as we exhibited from two stands at CEF Live. One of the biggest events of the year for Tamlite, CEF Live received thousands of attendees, visiting almost 50 stands in the NEC. Tamlite met with hundreds of customers, making the event a phenomenal success for all. The LIA recognised Tamlite’s quality once again in June, naming us an ambassador of the LIA Academy. The acknowledgement was another huge honour from a prestigious company. June was rounded off with more excellent news, as Tamlite were declared an accredited supplier to the Carbon Trust. We are now listed as a supplier in the Green Business Directory, and can produce huge savings for our customers. Tamlite’s projects are what make it one of the top lighting manufacturers in the country. In July, Tamlite completed its project at Highland Spring, in their factories and warehouses, to upgrade their lighting system and reduce their energy consumption.
A Busy Autumn
August saw us get nominated for the Electrical Industry Awards for our outstanding project working with The Ricoh Arena in Coventry. This is another example of our hard work being recognised in 2017. September was the month in which we were nominated for the Manufacturer of the Year award, which was to be presented at LuxLive. We were exceptionally proud to have been nominated for such a significant award. In October, Tamlite launched its brand-new website, which was immediately successful in its opening month. The number of page visits was increased by over 450%, compared to the previous month.
An Exciting Winter
November was one of the busiest months in 2017, exhibiting at LuxLive in London, and at the Academies Show in Birmingham. Both were superb opportunities for our sales teams to make contact with hundreds of customers, and LuxLive was the perfect platform for us to hold a big celebration in honour of our 50th anniversary. There have been so many accomplishments for Tamlite this year, all made more special by the half-century anniversary. We hope to use all of these achievements from our 50th year as a platform, to kick on in 2018 and do even better in our next year in review.
