Registers of Scotland, Edinburgh
Registers of Scotland is the government department responsible for managing public registers of land, property, and other legal documents in Scotland.
At the main office, in Edinburgh, the offices and residential areas have been refurbished in order to create a more comfortable working environment for staff.
According to Forbes magazine, “An overwhelming majority (87%) of workers would like their current employer to offer healthier workspace benefits, including breakout rooms.”
As part of this refurbishment, it was determined that an upgraded lighting system would create a feature-led breakout area, for staff and visitors to relax comfortably while at work. Tamlite Lighting delivered a solution designed to enhance aesthetics and the contemporary style in the office.
Ryan Gibson of Alba Facilities Services, who carried out the installation, commented, “The area was being redecorated, and they wanted to use the lighting to create a feature. Registers is delighted with how the Tamlite fittings have complemented the aesthetics of the room.”
Enhanced Residential Lighting
The aim of the lighting design was to illuminate the white walls, complementing the natural light levels afforded by the large windows in the room, to create a bright, open feel. High performance downlights were fitted around the edge of the room, delivering enhanced illumination and preventing the appearance of shadows, providing a bright space for workers and visitors. Suspended pendants were installed above the desks and tables, creating an aesthetically pleasing, even light distribution.
The main walkway was illuminated with OLYMPIAN modules, combining a striking diffuser and high-quality optical control to deliver the ideal aesthetic style.
This luminaire creates a more pleasing environment, with Registers made it clear that aesthetics and comfort were a key objective.
